Arja Paananen graduated from the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ with a degree in Russian language and literature. She has lived in Russia for over ten years and works in Finnish and Russian. She has been named Journalist of the Year 2024 and was awarded the Finnish Film Journalism Prize in 2018 for his long-term and competent reporting on Russia.

In 2012, Arja Paananen's fake doctor revelations were chosen as the story of the year in Bonnier's Great Journalist Award. 

For years, Paananen has shared her expertise with students at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ and the university community at large. Her work as an investigative journalist is strongly influenced by academic values: the reader must be told the truth.
