The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences ranks in the global top 10 again
The ranking of the Faculty has been steadily rising. ShanghaiRanking published its first ranking of sports-related units in 2016. The faculty’s position was 40th in 2016, 36th in 2017 and 29th in 2018. No ranking was made in 2019, but in 2020 the position was ninth.
“Our ranking is very good and reflects our long-term, high-quality and effective research. Our goal is to be in the top five in 2030. So we are heading in the right direction", says Dean Sarianna Sipilä.
Top 300 universities are listed based on the measurement of publication, citation, citations per publication, top 25% journals publications, and internationally collaborated publications. The bibliometric data is collected from the Web of Science database with a time window of five years. Among top 300 in 2020 list, 13 of the units are sport universities and 287 are universities with sport-related units.
