License to Move! - Towards Active Universities 8.4–12.4.2024

There is an increased need to make the study days more active: Students sit on average almost 11 hours per day and only half of the students meet the physical activity recommendations. However, even small activity can increase concentration, cognitive function and boost memory function. During the License to Move! -campaign week, we encourage the whole university community to be more active during the study and working day.

License to Move! campaign week will take part in all the higher education institutions in Central Finland during 8.4-12.4.2024. The campaign week is organized by the representers of the Active University project: Ģ��ֱ��, Jamk University of Applied Sciences, Humak University of Applied Sciences and the Air Force Academy. The campaign week is supported by the headmasters of every institution.

During the campaign week, we will share information about active transitions to campuses and give tips on how to implement activating or recovering breaks on your study day. You can find us on the university campuses and on social media. As part of the License to Move! -campaign week we will organize a webinar about active transitions. You can sign up for the webinar (Webinar only in Finnish).

On the campuses we will organize different kinds of activities such as easy and playful games and raffles. We will also bring new equipment, such as ping-pong tables, football tables and exercise balls, to the University campuses and students are encouraged to test these!

During the License to Move! -week, we will also encourage teachers and staff to add movement into lectures and meetings. We will find out which teachers and staff members are active promoters of breaks or promote active operational culture and award these people with diplomas! We are collecting information from students by using this .
