Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius signs new university consortium agreement for 2025–2029

The new University Consortium agreement commits the consortium universities to continue developing research and education activities in Central Ostrobothnia.

The parties to the agreement are the Universities of Jyväskylä, Oulu and Vaasa , and, from the regional sector, the cities of Kokkola and Kannus and the municipalities of Halsua, Kaustinen, Lestijärvi, Perho, Toholampi and Veteli as well as the Regional Council of Central Ostrobothnia. The agreement includes a financial contribution from the municipalities in the region.

The agreement also includes the higher education association of Central Ostrobothnia, the support association for Chydenius Institute, and the science and higher education foundation of Central Ostrobothnia as supporting members.

The University Consortium specialises in adult education and provides education leading to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees as well as continuing education and open university studies. Research and development projects as well as cooperation with various actors in the region are an essential part of the University Consortium’s activities.
