JYU in the Highly Cited Researchers list 2020

“This success was made possible by our long-term collaboration with the Faculty of Information Technology and Professor Pekka Neittaanmäki, which started in 2007”, Nikolay Kuznetsov says.
Collaboration within the Faculty of Information Technology allowed for the integration of theoretical mathematical methods, developed at St. Petersburg University, where N. Kuznetsov is Chair Professor, with the modern approaches to the numerical analysis and simulation of real-world systems, developed at the Ģֱ.
“Nikolay Kuznetsov's innovative combination of mathematics and computer science in solving difficult computational sciences problems has led to several scientific breakthroughs (read more). These results have been widely adopted across disciplines, demonstrated by getting to the top 1% in references. This is a top achievement“, rejoices Professor Pekka Neittaanmäki.
As a result, a major breakthrough has eventuated in the area of computer architecture, telecommunications and drilling systems. In all, 13 Ph.D. dissertations have been prepared and defended during the 13 years of the program; three of these works were supported by the Scholarship of the President of Russia for studies abroad, 11 of the dissertations were supervised by N. Kuznetsov.
This year the success of the cooperation was noted in connection with the election of N. Kuznetsov as foreign member of the Finnish Academy and Letters.
