Interested in how brain controls movement? Participate in brain research!

We are looking for healthy men and women aged 20–45 years for a brain research. The research focuses on how the signals from muscles, joints and tendons modulate the commands from the brain to the muscles - the feedback system between the central and peripheral nervous systems.

We use transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to activate the brain area controlling the ankle muscles. The muscle activity caused by TMS is recorded by surface electromyography (sEMG). Electroencephalography (EEG)is used to spot when the signals from the ankle reach the brain. All methods are non-invasive. The measurements will be carried out in the summer and early autumn of 2025.

Information gathered can be used, for example, to better understand neurological muscle diseases or to develop more efficient human-computer interfaces in prosthetics.
