At the Ylistö campus, a person with Coronavirus-like symptoms who recently returned from abroad has been identified.

Due to the broadening epidemic, the local health authorities no longer perform tests on persons with mild symptoms. It has therefore not been possible to confirm that the symptoms are caused by a Coronavirus infection. The current policy is only to test infected patients who require hospitalisation and health workers exhibiting symptoms. The infection chains will not be investigated. Patients with mild symptoms will be treated at home and further infections should be avoided by remaining at home until healthy.

According to the instructions of the municipal infectious diseases physician, the infection risk from being in shared spaces is low.

In this situation, it is recommended that the Ylistö campus moves immediately to remote working in accordance with the instructions issued by the University on 13.3. Over the weekend and on Monday staff may collect computers and other material needed for remote working from the University, but time spent on the premises should be kept to a minimum. People should be ready for remote working on Monday and further instructions regarding the laboratory operations will follow.

In this situation, from now on all the lectures will move to remote teaching/lectures. All of the student teaching laboratories will be closed and courses which include experimental work will be cancelled.

Course-specific instructions and information will be given out by the course teachers as soon as possible. The information will also be collected and updated on the following web pages: /en/study/wellbeing/coronavirus-instructions/coronavirus-instructions
