You should remember to take care of your wellbeing in the situation:

  • It is good to stay informed, but it may be necessary to limit your exposure to the news and the internet, especially if the subject provokes anxiety.
  • Follow the news from a reliable source. There's a lot of false or distorted information circulating, especially on social media.
  • Stick to your daily routines and take care of yourself and your loved ones. Do things that normally bring you joy.
  • Remember that we're safe, even though the situation may feel distressing.

It is natural to react in different ways and you shouldn't try to deny your feelings. Don't be alone, talk about the situation with a loved one, friend or other trusted person.

In the midst of a crisis, we must also remember that we must not give way to discrimination in any form. Every member of our university community is equally valuable and inappropriate or racist behaviour will not be tolerated.
