A survey on the socioeconomic impacts of improving the status of the freshwater pearl mussel and its host fish

The European Commission funded LIFE Revives -project invites you to participate in a survey concerning the socioeconomic impacts of improving the status of the freshwater pearl mussel and its host fish (salmon and trout), as well as restoration of their habitats. The results of the survey will help researchers to better understand people’s opinions and attitudes towards the biotic communities in rivers, and in particular these three species of animals that live in river ecosystems. The survey can be answered in four languages: Finnish, English, Swedish and Estonian.

The aim of the survey is to study the importance of the freshwater pearl mussel and its larval host fish, salmon and trout, to humans. The aim is to use the results of the survey in future actions and plans related to nature conservation, land use and water management.

Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and anonymous, and respondents are not required to provide their contact details. The survey will take about 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Even if you can’t answer some of the questions, all the information you give is equally valuable for research!

The European Commission funded LIFE Revives -project improves freshwater pearl mussel (FPM) and its host fish (salmon and trout) habitats in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. The 6-year LIFE Revives -project (2021-2027) is coordinated by the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ and its budget is almost 16 million euros.
