JYU.INTEGRA
For students
The aim of the INTEGRA language training is to integrate language studies with studies in the participants’ own disciplines. In this way, the training will support the participants in learning the Finnish language, academic skills (in both Finnish and English) and the contents of their own discipline in Finnish. At the same time, the training promotes the students’ integration into the Finnish academic world and university learning culture.
INTEGRA training does not lead to a university degree, and the students cannot automatically continue in degree studies at the university or at another higher education institutions after the training. However, JYU.INTEGRA training and the guidance received during it will help students to continue in the degree studies they apply for afterwards.

Pre.INTEGRA training
Pre.INTEGRA training is a three-month training programme of elementary level Finnish aimed for Ukrainians and Ukrainian immigrants with higher education, or those who are eligible for higher education, and who have a residence permit under temporary protection. During the training, students develop their Finnish language skills and academic study skills in Finnish.
In autumn 2023, we are piloting the PRE.INTEGRA training, which is funded as part of the discretionary funding from the State Funding for Universities (item 29.40.50.3) of the Ministry of Education and Culture for enhanced university SIMHE support and counselling services for Ukrainian refugees in particular.
The JYU.INTEGRA training, language studies and related research and development work is carried out by the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥'s Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication Movi.
The content of the training is provided by the Open University of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ and the guidance is provided by the SIMHE (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education) guidance service of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ Education Services.
Multidirectional and multidisciplinary cooperation plays an important role. Co-operation is done with different actors, such asTE services, integration services, the International Jyväskylä Centre of Excellence and the Finnish National Board of Education.
In particular, there is cooperation with universities and universities of applied sciences in Finland that organise and develop education and training for people with a higher education background who are qualified for higher education.
The development work also makes use of the international networks of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ and in particular the partner universities of the Forthem Alliances, such as Université de Bourgogne, which is one of our partners.
