Jos olet suorittanut ulkomaisen korkeakoulututkinnon, voit hakea Opetushallitukselta tutkinnon tunnustamista (ks. ). Mikäli Opetushallituksen päätöksessä todetaan, että suorittamasi opinnot rinnastetaan Suomessa suoritettaviin 60 opintopisteen laajuisiin opettajan pedagogisiin opintoihin, jos suoritat täydentäviä opintoja, voit hakea opinto-oikeutta kyseisiin opintoihin Jyväskylän yliopistoon. Hakeminen tapahtuu erillisten opettajan pedagogisten opintojen haun yhteydessä heti vuoden alussa. Hakuedellytyksenä on, että olet suorittanut ylemmän korkeakoulututkinnon ja sinulla on jokin perusopetuksessa opetettavan aineen opinnot. Hakemuksen liitteeksi tulee toimittaa käännös pohjakoulutuksen todistuksista ja kopio Opetushallituksen päätöksestä sekä todistus suomen kielen taidosta. Hakukelpoiset hakijat osallistuvat opettajan pedagogisten opintojen soveltuvuuskokeeseen. Soveltuvuuskoe tulee suorittaa hyväksytysti, jotta opinto-oikeus myönnetään.
