Konnevesi grant
Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ wants to take care of its students and provide support for the completion of studies. When your thesis (master’s thesis, diploma work, or dissertation) is at a stage where it requires a peaceful and worry-free environment to be completed, apply for the Konnevesi Grant.
The Rector’s grants at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ for students not employed by the university, are available throughout the year. Those employed by the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ can apply for the grant through the Science Council.
Konnevesi has welcomed scholarship recipients since autumn 1993. Annually, an average of 50 to 60 satisfied grantees have enjoyed the services of the Konnevesi Research Station, which significantly either accelerated the completion of their thesis or improved its quality.
What is included in the grant?
The grant includes full board from Monday to Friday at the Konnevesi Research Station (about 65 km from Jyväskylä and 3 km from Konnevesi center) and the use of the station’s diverse research facilities (e.g., researcher rooms and computers with up-to-date software) for a 5-day period (Mon - Fri). On weekends, it is possible to stay and work quietly at the station, but restaurant services are not available. Round-trip bus tickets between Jyväskylä and Konnevesi are also included in the grant.
Full board means accommodation in the station’s shared apartments and breakfast, lunch, and evening snack. The wood-heated sauna can be heated upon request. The shared apartments have a kitchen with dishes and appliances (refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, and kettle) as well as bathroom facilities.
The amount of the five-day grant is 330€.
The grants are awarded by the vice-rector. Grants are open for application year-round. The applicant can propose the most suitable time to work on their thesis at Konnevesi. However, the station’s capacity ultimately determines when grantees can enjoy the peaceful working environment, pleasant atmosphere, and good food at the station. The best availability at the Konnevesi Research Station is from September to April.
A student can be awarded the grant only once during the completion of the same degree. A student who received the grant during their master’s studies can apply for the grant also during the completion of their doctoral dissertation.
How to apply?
