Instructions for changing and selecting specialisations during your studies.

During student admission, you have received the right to study in the degree programme and the degrees completed in the degree programme.

Many of the degree programmes do not have various specialisations to choose from, or you have already been selected for a particular specialisation during the selection procedure. Some of the degree programmes have several specialisations, from which you can freely choose your

desired specialisation during your studies or
the specialisation is chosen through an application procedure that takes place during the studies.

In this case, changing the specialisation takes place with the same procedure as choosing the specialisation initially, or the faculty has separately defined procedures for changing the specialisation.

Faculty of Mathematics and Science

When not all specialisations tracks in the degree programme are freely elective, as an undergraduate student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science of the Ģ��ֱ��, you can apply for the right to transfer from one specialisation to another in your master’s programme. As a result of changing the specialisation, your right to complete a degree in the original specialisation expires. The remaining duration of your studies does not change due to changing the specialisation.

Changing the specialisations in master’s programmes organised by one department:

A change from one specialisation to another can be granted if you have a sufficient background for the specialisation you are applying for and if the department has the resources to accept students in relation to the specialisation.
The relevant head of the department or a person appointed by them decides on changing specialisations within a master’s programme.

Changing specialisations in the Master’s Degree Programme in Nanoscience:

A change from one specialisation to another can be granted if you have a sufficient background for the specialisation you are applying for and if the target department has the resources to accept students in relation to the specialisation.
The dean of the faculty or a person appointed by them decides on the changing of the specialisation.

Changing specialisations in the Master’s Degree Programme in High-Performance Computing of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science and the Faculty of Information Technology:

Changing specialisations is possible within the Faculty of Mathematics and Science or between the Faculty of Mathematics and Science and the Faculty of Information Technology, if you have a sufficient background in the specialisation you are applying for and if the target faculty or department has the resources to accept students in relation to the specialisation.
The dean of the target faculty or a person appointed by them decides on the changing of the specialisation.

is used for requesting the change of specialisation.
