Peer groups offer you possibilities to promote your studies with others. Studying together helps you to plan your you studying. Targets of peer groups is to support your ability to study, wellbeing and progressing in your studies.
Peer groups are interdisciplinary, subject or sector specific. Most of theme are organized and guided by other students, peer tutors. There are also peer groups organized by academic professionals or alumns.
Weekend Thesis Undertaking
Weekend Thesis Undertaking (WTU) is a popular, interdisciplinary weekend organised twice a month for those Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ students who are working on their thesis. The event offers a positive and supportive working atmosphere, as well as peer pressure and peer support. A free breakfast is provided for the participants.
All those Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ students who are working on their Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral's thesis are welcome!

Peer Support for Doctoral Researchers
Peer Support for Doctoral Researchers is a program that is aimed at developing and supporting well-being of doctoral researchers at JYU. By organizing various social events, aim is to offer young and established academics opportunities to expand their social networks as well as relax in friendly environments. These events include cultural evenings, hiking trips as well as game nights, and are organized three times per month after work hours. Additionally, encouraging members to take part in academic seminars that are organized to support various academic interests from career opportunities and the process of journal publications to mobility during studies. These seminars also enable doctoral researchers a chance of meeting senior academic members of community who offer knowledge and support for countless matters concerning the entire dissertation process.
In sum, the Peer Support program strives for sharing knowledge as well as provides mental and professional support for our entire academic community. If you would like to be a part of this amazing community, please feel free to approach one of our peer support mentors:
