How to choose your courses

We start with new curricula at Autumn 2024 - remember our courses can change completely! We try to publish our course selection fro Academic year 2024-2025 at April at this page. 
If there are information of the courses at this page, but not link for course information page - course in new and the page have not been published yet. 

You can choose courses that suits for your plan. Remember you need to look do you have the prerequisites on the courses. If you would like to do "working in research group" we need to find you supervisor already when you apply to university of Jyväskylä. Contact International Coordinator of the Faculty and tell your interest areas. You can look faculty research groups before hand and maybe think what skills and competencies you have to work in group. We also need to know how many ECTS credits you need from that work and should it be evaluated numerically? Normally we only evaluate research group work pass/ fail. Working at researc group takes time and you need to plan when you have time to do it. Normally scientific research work need to be reported too. Be aware of the time you need for all of this. You need to be self motivated and be aple to work independently. 

Many or our practical courses and laboratory courses might be full. Remember that we might need to make changes to yoru LA because of that.

The first three digits of the course code express the host Department, the fourth digit expresses the level of studies:

• xxxPxxx = Basic level course
• xxxAxxx = Subject (intermediate) level course
• xxxSxxx = Advanced level course (Master's)
• xxxJxxx = Postgraduate (PhD) level course

If you are not yet a registered student at JYU, continue your course search without logging in and write the course code in the search field. The results can be filtered, for example, according to the academic year and the language of instruction.
