The sustainability transition requires shared value creation, participative foresight and aligned efforts between firms and their stakeholders. Unfortunately, all of these are often insufficiently implemented.
Academy Research Fellow Annukka Näyhä (JSBE) aims to respond to these challenges in her project Future-oriented collaborative business models as a remedy for the sustainability transition: Finnish forest-based sector as an empirical arena for the creation of a transition framework (BuSuT, 2021-2026), by asking how the transition could be facilitated by future-oriented collaborative business models.
The study is based on analyses of media and policy sources, interviews and workshops. It will produce a transition framework, which can be utilized in firms’ management and stakeholder dialogue as well as in the public sector in the fields based on renewal natural resources. The study brings stakeholders to the common discussions so that the shared views can be created and studied. It contributes to research on business management, foresight and transition.
