More than 80 contributors participated in JYU.Wisdom's joint effort to produce the book Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Planetary Well-Being. The book is available open access.

Now we're welcoming everyone to come and get familiar with the contents of the book and the JYU.Wisdom community. The book tour consists of 6 sessions, each devoted to 1-3 chapters and hosted by the faculty where those chapters have been authored.

This event series also serves as a reading club, so if you have time to read the chapter(s) in advance, you are encouraged to come and give your reflections on their topics - but no reading required!

Today's theme is education, psychology, and well-being. The following chapters will be discussed:

  • Eudaimonia and temperance (Grénman et al). Chapter 11.
  • Psychological well-being and pro-environmental behaviour (Salonen et al). Chapter 12.
  • Education for Planetary Well-being (Aaltonen et al). Chapter 18.

The event will be only on-site, no hybrid. Coffee and tea will be served.

Warmly welcome all!

The later book tour visits are as follows:

  • 15.11. theme is measuring, accounting, and steering.
  • 29.11. theme is cultural and decolonial perspectives.
  • 13.12. theme is ethics, ontology, and social sciences perspectives.
