Welcome to hear latest news from project PhinGAIN. This time we have speakers from both Ģֱ and University of Oulu. Presentations provide us views on applying computational methods to studying interaction in remote context e.g. What can we tell about online interaction and engagement by studying micro-expressions and how to measure heart rate remotely?

15:45-16:00 Discussion
Dr Yante Li received the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland, in 2022. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis of University of Oulu. Her current research interests include affective computing, micro-expression analysis and facial action unit detection, and generation.
Dr Alexander Vedernikov received his M.Sc. in 2018 from Politecnico di Milano in Italy. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Moscow, Russia, in 2022. He is now with Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis, University of Oulu in Finland. His current research focuses on Affective Computing, Facial Analysis, and Emotion Understanding.
Dr Anu Tourunen received her PhD in psychology from the Ģֱ in 2017 and currently works there as a postdoctoral researcher. She is also writing a popular science book about bodily connections between people, supported by funding from the Finnish Cultural Foundation. Her research interests include phenomena related to the mind-body connection in interaction, interpersonal synchrony, psychophysiology, and emotions.
