The attachment submission deadline is Wed 29 January 2024 at 3.00 p.m. (EET, Helsinki time).

Unfortunately, we cannot make any extensions to our deadlines, even if the delay was caused by a third party, such as the language test organiser, the applicant’s former university, or by the applicant's illness or any other unexpected event as we want to ensure equal treatment of all the applicants. Your application will be evaluated based on the information provided by 29 January. 

If any required documents were not submitted to your application in time to meet the given deadline, your application will be deemed ineligible and will not be processed further. If this applies to your situation, JYU warmly welcomes you to apply again in January 2026!

Applicants will be informed whether or not they continue the application process in March and the final results will be published by 3 April 2025 via email. 

Possible online interviews are held between 12–19 March 2024. The invitation will be sent few days before via email. Please keep an eye for it!

Yes, for academic positions, some programs hire department interns and research assistants that you can apply to. Additionally, students can work at student restaurants. There are also short-term jobs such as international student tutoring.

Unfortunately, we cannot comment on each individual application due to the high volume of applications we receive. To help you determine why your application was rejected, here are the most common reasons for ineligibility: 

• All the required documents did not reach JYU by the deadline. 
• The applicant failed to demonstrate their English language proficiency in one of the ways mentioned in the programme-specific admission criteria.
• The applicant's previous degree does not give eligibility for Master's level studies, or their previous field of study is not compatible with the programme the applicant is applying to.

According to the Degree Regulations of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, a complaint must specify in detail the decision on which it is based. When JYU checks the eligibility of applicants and chooses applicants for the next stage, this is a phase in the admission process. It is not an official decision, and, therefore, you cannot file a complaint against it. 

The Dean of each faculty will make an official decision on the applicants selected for the programme in question after all the applications have been fully processed. This includes checking for eligibility and the academic evaluation of eligible applications. Applicants who are not admitted will receive instructions for filing a complaint against the decision by email along with the official admission result.
