Sports hall shifts for staff

Staff members of JYU can apply for a weekly one-hour sports hall shift for the academic year 2024 - 2025 (September - May). The application period starts in August 12, 2024 and lasts until August 25, 2024. The shifts will start at he beginning of September as soon as the shifts have been confirmed. The shifts are chargeable. We will contact each applicant by email as soon as the shifts are confirmed. At first, make a tentative booking for the shift according to your primary or secondary wish in the online calendar and then fill out the application form. Please note that each sports hall option is on its own sheet in the bottom bar of the table.

If there are still shifts available after the application period in August, it is possible to reserve shifts for the spring season (February - May). Inquiries about the shifts during the spring season can be made between January 1 and January 19, 2025 via the Facility Services' .

  • The price is the same regardless of whether the group has people also outside the university.
  • Note! There are more cancellations of the shifts at Norssi due to the school's own activities, such as matriculation examinations. Canceled shifts will not be refunded or replaced.

Instructions for users and the person responsible for the shift:

  • The contact person will be notified by email in case there are any cancellations of the shifts. Users are responsible for checking the status of the shift reservation from the KOVS system, since we do not send reminders about cancellations. It is not possible to get a replacement shift for shifts that have been cancelled in advance. Canceled shifts will not be refunded.
  • Access card of the person responsible for the shift is coded so that he or she has access to the sports hall. If there are any problems with the access card, please contact the Clavis Service Desk: key-support@jyu.fi.
  • Access to the Liikunta building (L) with an access card is from the exterior door on the tennis courts side of the building. In the evenings and on weekends, a PIN code must also be used at the front door.
  • Access to the Norssi sports hall with an access card is from the exterior door "E" (low part of the building). The women's dressing room can be found on the front left of the lobby and the men's dressing room can be found on the front right of the lobby (near the coat racks). Access to the sports hall is through the dressing rooms. Show your card to the reader at the dressing room door and then push the door hard.
  • Access to the tennis courts and Campus sports field does not require a key.
  • If the person responsible for the shift changes during the season, the Facility Services must be notified by contacting Facility Services via .
  • Outdoor shoes, high heels or black-soled shoes that leave marks must not be worn in the sports facilities. Sand and pebbles damage the floor.
  • As the surface of the floors in the sports facilities is easily damaged, e.g. exercise equipment or key chains must not be dropped on the floor.
  • Return all movable items back to their place. The person responsible for the shift makes sure that the hall is maintained in a tidy condition after the shift and that windows are closed. Goals and benches must be put in place.
  • The hall must be empty for the next users immediately after the shift (meaning that equipment must be taken away in good time and players may not stay in the hall to dress).
  • When you leave, make sure the space is clean, turn off the lights and close the doors.
  • Keeping the exterior doors open during the shift is strictly forbidden. Keeping the exterior doors open will immediately result in a loss of the shift.
  • Violations of the rules will lead to a loss of the shift.
  • If you notice problems related to the facility or the equipment or something breaks, submit a service request via the QR code on the door of the hall.
  • Players must bring their own equipment, such as rackets and balls.
