Function and adaptation of the human body
Our aim is to understand the mechanisms of human musculoskeletal function and to apply this knowledge in practice in different settings and for different populations. We study the function of the human body as a result of movement, exercise, physical activity and inactivity in the context of functional capacity, performance, health and well-being.
Our research focuses on the brain, the nervous system, musculoskeletal, respiratory and circulatory systems, and other organ systems important for movement and their regulation. In addition to exercise, we also study other factors that influence performance, musculoskeletal function and mobility, such as lifestyle and environmental factors. We study the above phenomena from the molecular and cellular level to the level of organ systems and the whole body. In particular, our research targets healthy people and patients of all ages, as well as competitive athletes.
