Materials physics
Materials physics studies experimental, theoretical and computational physics. Most of the research is carried out at the Nanoscience Center, but it is also done in the Accelerator Laboratory.
New materials with new properties are key to technological development. Materials physics is the science of studying the properties of materials, where they come from and how they can be controlled. It is based on strong fundamental research, leading to new and surprising applications.
