Facilities of Konnevesi Research Station
Konnevesi Research Station offers a magnificent and unique venue for courses, meetings and seminars. At the lakeside sauna on the strand of Lake Konnevesi, you can arrange recreation days and various social evenings or use the comfortable lounge area for groupwork or a small meeting. JYU communities, organizations from outside the university, and the public can rent all facilities of the station. The lecture hall is suitable for courses, meetings and seminars, and the dining hall for various celebrations. All catering services are available as needed for the event.
When people spend time together in the daytime as well as in the evening, social bonds grow and interaction deepens. The research station is often used for team building among new students at the beginning of the academic year.
The station provides equipment for sampling and analysis, workrooms and space for laboratory work as well as follow-up data for the use of researchers. Our laboratory technicians help with the construction and running of test systems.

The research station features a lecture room equipped with remote connections for 80 people, a course laboratory, workrooms, modern research facilities, and a dining room for 95 people. The main building has a small library area and a computer classroom. The lakeside sauna has two different rooms, dressing facilities, and a lounge for 18 people. The sauna is available to all boarding guests in the evenings, but the lakeside sauna must be booked separately.
The station has cars and boats available for passenger transport for research teams and courses. Transport from the Konnevesi bus station to the research station and back is available on workdays and weekends when necessary.
The station has boarding facilities for 66 people. The flats have two or three rooms with a kitchen, shower and toilet. The rooms have beds for two or three people. In addition, there are two separate houses for boarding, which can accommodate groups of four to six. Bedclothes and towels as well as final cleaning are included in the boarding price.
The station’s kitchen prepares meals according to advance bookings. On workdays, the catering includes breakfast and lunch. Depending on the size of the group, dinner and supper are either a self-heated meal package or served by the staff. When making a boarding or facility reservation, it is possible to agree on other catering services as well. The range of services varies from regular meals to banquets.
