The Master’s Degree Programme in Diagnostic Health Sciences will start at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ in September 2026. The programme is unique in Finland.

The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ receives over 3.2 million euros in funding from the Research Council of Finland for biosciences, health, and environmental research, including two Academy Research Fellowships and three Academy Projects.

The nomination of Jouko Korppi-Tommola is recognition of his long-term, impressive and pioneering work for Finnish photonics and Photonics Finland. Korppi-Tommola has been working in the Laser Laboratory of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, since 1985.

Researcher Pekka Niittynen has been granted in Academy Research Fellowship funding explores how shrinking snow cover affects local climates, biodiversity, and ecosystem functions. The Research Council of Finland awarded funding to four Academy Projects.

In his doctoral dissertation, Rafael Sayous studied the equidistribution of divergent orbits in two distinct mathematical settings. Sayous completes a Dual Doctorate between the Université Paris-Saclay and the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥.

The Department of Biological and Environmental Science is celebrating its 55th anniversary. Students, alumni and stakeholders are invited to join the festivities. The programme for the day features both a daytime celebration and an evening event.

Mikko Mankinen’s dissertation presents high-precision computer simulations to evaluate how well the volumetric modulated arc therapy is delivered. Mankinen defends on Thursday June 19, 2025.
