ISBN identifiers

For works published at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, an ISBN identifier can be requested from the Open Science Centre. ISBN is an international standard number identifying books or other works. It is free of charge.

ISBN is an international standard number identifying books or other works. It is free of charge. For works published at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, an ISBN identifier can be requested from the Open Science Centre. 

ISBN is given to all works that have the same content as a book. The form of the work can therefore be, for example, a printed book or an audiovisual or electronic recording.

You may request an ISBN from the Open Science Centre by email: 
numeroin@library.jyu.fi
 
We ask you to include the following information:

  • The title
  • Author(s)/Editor(s)
  • Edition number (1., 2., etc.)
  • Year of publication
  • Each publication format (print, electronic, PDF, ePub etc.) 

If you publish in JYU Dissertations (series for doctoral dissertations), JYU Studies or JYU Reports, ISBN’s are automatically attached to the publication during the publication process.

For publications other than those produced at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, the ISBN is granted by the operating in the National Library of Finland. 

After its publication, one copy of the printed publication (if available) should be sent to the Open Science Centre:
