Multidisciplinary Child and Family Research network is an international network for child, childhood, youth and family research at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, which profiles itself as a place for high-quality research that meets international criteria.

The mission of the Multidisciplinary Child and Family Research Network is to promote the well-being and inclusion of children and families through multidisciplinary research and broad networking. Research knowledge is used to support children and young people's well-being, learning, family well-being and parenting.

Our work focuses on

  • promoting collaboration and networking between researchers within the university 
  • international research collaboration
  • national and local stakeholder cooperation
  • providing a multidisciplinary postgraduate seminar for doctoral students in child and family studies 
  • various events and training activities for researchers, students and interested parties outside the university
     

Research

The research focuses on various phenomena related to children, childhood, adolescence and the family, such as the well-being of families with children, multiple family relationships, child well-being and participation, or issues of reconciling work and family life. In addition to research, the network's mission is to promote both doctoral training and post-doctoral research.

The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥'s Multidisciplinary Child and Family Research Network involves more than 100 researchers and doctoral candidates from different disciplines. Research is carried out in the School of Business, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Sport, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Psychology.

Research is also carried out in cooperation with international and Finnish networks, partner universities and stakeholders. Research projects are funded by various bodies and the network has several projects funded by the Academy of Finland. Funding has also been received from the Ministry of Education and Culture, the European Social Fund and national foundations.
