PlanBee

We are interested how the honey bees thrive in the northern conditions, beyond their natural range. We are also interested in the effects honeybees have on biota and other natural pollinators.

Research group description

We are interested how the honeybees (Apis mellifera) thrive on their northernmost range and how abiotic, biotic and human interactions affect the colony success. We are also interested in how honeybees act as pollinators to natural fauna and whether they exchange viruses with the other pollinators (bumblebees).
