Research group description

The Computing Education Research (CER) group at the Faculty of Information Technology focuses on education research in the computing context, sharing interests with the international CER community. The research group consists of teacher-as-researchers.  The research we have conducted comprises various topics in project-based education, programming education,  SQL education, K-12 outreach, educational use of version control systems, learning technology, and education improvement efforts. The overview of computing education research in Finland is available in one of our publications (see, ).

We take CER as a necessarily multi-disciplinary field and, accordingly, attempt to enrich the theoretical base of how computing education is investigated.
