Project description

Aiming to the top! A goal-oriented sport or coaching requires a lot of resources from the individual and can be considered as a full-time job. It is important that individuals involved in sports can also prepare for their working life after career in sport ends. Education is of course a key element in this.

Two universities in Kainuu, Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) and the Vuokatti Sports Technology Unit of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (JYU-Vuokatti), are working together to implement a project that offers ambitious athletes and coaches a flexible educational pathway to complete two sports-related university degrees alongside their sporting careers.

The project also aims to establish the training programme as part of the educational offer of JYU-Vuokatti and KAMK. The project therefore makes a strong contribution to raising the educational level of Kainuu residents, diversifying the range of studies in Kainuu, strengthening the attractiveness and retention of Kainuu residents, and increasing job opportunities.
