History and Politics of Victimazation in the Italian Postwar

The research project deals with historico-political disputes and rhetoric of victimazation used and abused in them. There are two principal empirical contexts of the research. On the one hand the research focuses on disputes surrounding the wartime resistance movement and its political heritage in the Italian republic. On the other hand the research focuses on disputes surrounding the so called foiba-killings and the exodus of Italian speaking population from areas left to Socialist Yugoslavia.

The research projects deals with historico-political disputes and rhetoric of victimization used and abused in them focusing on two principal empirical contexts. On the one hand the research project analyses disputes and debates surrounding the wartime Italian resistance movement and its political heritage in the postwar Italian Republic. On the other hand the research examines critically disputes and debates surrounding the so called foiba-killings and the exodus of approximately 250 000 Italian speaking people from areas remained under Yugoslavian control.
