Project description

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry funded project Care and concern in the coutryside: feeling of safety and living with low income as examples (acronym: HUOMA) investigates what kinds of worries related to livelihood and security rural residents face in their everyday life, and especially, what structures, processes and life events cause them, and how they are intertwined together with regional differences. The project is a consortium of the universities of Jyväskylä and Eastern Finland (2023-2025). The Jyväskylä sub-project focuses on living on a meager income from work, and it cooperates closely with the Working poor in a post-industrial welfare state project (The Finnish Cultural Foundation 2022-2024).
