Biography

PhD student with expertice in freshwater ecosystem protection, especially streams and spring habitats.

At the moment studying the forest act spring habitats and the development of a more effective conservation plan. 

Research interests

Spring habitats in Finland are poorly known and widely neglected in legislation. I study the effectivity of Finnish forest act in protecting spring habitats and their special features. The aim is to develop a functional conservation plan in areas where the system nowadays is proved to not serve how intended.
