
Tanja Vehkakoski
Biography
I work as a senior lecturer in special education in the Department of Education. My PhD degree is in special education, and I also have a docentship in special education in the University of Helsinki. My teaching duties consist of the following areas:
-basic, intermediate and advanced studies in special education (e.g. Disability Studies, professional ethics, interaction)
-qualitative research methods
-supervising Bachelor and Master theses
-supervising doctoral students
Research interests
My research interests include classroom interaction, pedagogical documentation and disability studies. I am specialized in qualitative research methods (especially discourse analysis, conversation analysis and narrative research). I am also a board member in the Finnish Educational Research Association and a coordinator of the special interest group of Interaction Research.
