Biography
I work as a professor at the Department of Psychology at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥. I study the fundamental mechanisms of behavior change, that is, the neural basis of learning and memory. My expertise includes electrophysiological measurement and the analysis of signals measured from the body and brain in relation to behavior. I teach, among other things, the basic course in cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology, and supervise theses related to my research field.
Research interests
I am interested in how memories are created and stored in the brain. I am particularly interested in the functioning of the hippocampus, as it is an important brain structure especially in the formation of so-called episodic memories of life events. In addition, I am currently researching how the body's rhythmic activity, mainly heart rate and breathing, regulates learning. I am also interested in the effects of physical fitness and training on learning ability.
