
Mika Skippari
Biography
Dr. Mika Skippari holds a PhD from strategic management at Tampere University of Technology (2005) and Master´s Degree in economic history at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (1999). He is appointed as an adjunct professor (Docent) at the University of Tampere. In addition to Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, Skippari has worked at the University of Tampere (Research Director), Aalto University (Senior Researcher), Tampere University of Technology (Post-doc Researcher), and Arizona State University (Visiting Scholar). He has also done short-term research visits to California State University at Monterey Bay (USA), Friedrich-Schiller University at Jena (Germany), Surrey University (UK), and Marquette University (USA).
His research interests include retail strategies, business-government relations, and stakeholder management. His research has been published in journals in the areas of marketing, management and business history, such as Business & Society, Industrial Marketing Management, International Review of Retail Distribution and Consumer Research, and Business History.
He acts as an editorial board member and ad-hoc reviewer in several international journals. He has run numerous externally funded research projects. He has taught courses and supervised theses in all academic levels (Bachelor, Master´s, MBA, Doctoral) in marketing, strategic management, and business history.
