Biography

I am a political theorist who brings historical perspectives to bear on present-day political issues. My current research turns to early modern women's political writings to generate new insights for contemporary debates about equality. My published writing has appeared, or is forthcoming, in Political Theory, Polity, as well as Politics and Gender.

Gender in Renaissance and Early Modern Philosophy

The project investigates early feminist arguments and their relation to the history of philosophy and political thought. It focuses on education, innate capacities, the concepts of equality and difference, and questions of citizenship and political rule.
