Biography
I am working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, faculty of sport and health sciences. I have a master’s degree in drug development sciences and a PhD in cell biology and anatomy from the Department of Biomedicine, University of Turku.
In my PhD project, I focused on the angiogenic potential of human bone marrow derived mesenchymal stromal cells and peripheral blood derived mononuclear cells and wanted to continue research within the field of vascular biology. In my current research project, I am investigating the vascular ageing and endothelial cell senescence and the health benefits of exercise in cardiometabolic patients. The aim is to identify cellular and molecular mechanisms of the health effects of exercise that could be used to develop strategies to clinically intervene and limit cardiometabolic diseases caused by ageing and obesity.
