Biography
I work as a doctoral researcher in education at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching and education in both the municipal and corporate sectors. My research interests include teachership, teacher competence, and educational policy speeches, which I examine in my doctoral dissertation. I am currently working on my second article.
Research interests
My dissertation examines how teachership, teacher competence, and professional expertise are constructed and given meaning in political argumentation in Finnish parliamentary Question Time speeches from 2000 to 2023 as part of sociocultural expectations. Situated at the intersection of research on teachership and education policy, the study applies a sociocultural framework and positions parliamentary Question Time speeches as part of the deliberative democratic process. Through argumentation analysis, I explore how sociocultural expectations shape the way teachership is discussed and given meaning, how social problems influence expectations of teacher competence, and what kinds of professional roles are framed for teachers in political argumentation.
