Biography
I am a senior researcher, focusing on the conceptual histories and theories of political representation, democracy, and ideologies. I hold the title of Docent in political science (Stockholm University, 2011) and in political history (University of Helsinki, 2018). I received my PhD in political science at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ in 2000.
I am an active scholar in an international conceptual history community, currently a board member of The History of Concepts Group as well as Concepta. My co-edited books include Käsitteet liikkeessä: Suomen poliittisen kulttuurin käsitehistoria (2003), Time, History and Politics (2003), Rhetorics of Nordic Democracy (2010), and Democracy in Modern Europe: A Conceptual History (2018). I have also coedited the special issue on the political rhetoric of isms in the Journal of Political Ideologies (2018).
