I am a teacher and a researcher in the field of information systems science with a focus on information security management. I work on externally funded research projects and have teaching responsibilities in the information systems and cybersecurity degree programs. My research interests include organizational information security policies, information security management in value networks, and end-user authentication. My research has a human-centered orientation and mostly uses qualitative research approaches.
My research focuses on the human perspective in information security management. My doctoral dissertation considered information security policy development and supporting the policy creators' critical thinking when defining new rules. After defending my dissertation, I moved on to work on two externally funded research projects. In the SAFE project, I research end-user authentication methods from the perspective of the system developer, user, and the wider landscape of digital services. Further, in the Kyberkumppani project, I research business networks in critical infrastructure that, together, try to develop information security management within the value network. I mainly utilize qualitative research methods such as action research.
