Hanna-Mari Kivistö
Biography
My interests include politics of human rights, parliamentarism and democracy, conceptual history, and politics of language. I research and teach on these themes, and I also have a variety of responsibilities relating to supervision and guidance, from first-year students to doctoral dissertations.
I am the Chair of the Finnish Political Science Association and on the board of the Nordic Political Science Association, NoPSA.
Research interests
My research examines human rights debates with particular reference to asylum-seekers, refugees, migrants and stateless persons. By investigating disputes and interpretations of human rights, and the role of human rights in varying contexts and constellations, it provides politically important analyses and readings with both present day and historical relevance.
