Biography

I am a doctoral researcher in the field of Development Studies. My research topic " Civil societies strategies for the governance of just energy transition : Views from Africa" explores the legitimation of an "African-centered approach" for just energy transition (JET) by Africa-based civil society organisation in global arenas. I also analyse spaces available for their participation in green policies at the national level. Additionally, I investigate identities and subjectivities (re)produced between civil society organisations and citizens localised energy transition initiatives, and their engagements extend understanding of energy citizenship. My project connects with the theme of "civil society and democratic development" under the Sustainability Transformations doctoral pilot in Finland.

In 2024, I worked as a research assistant at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ in the project "Re-articulating citizenship in the times of uncertainty: Hybrid narratives of Covid-19 responses in sub-Saharan Africa". I analysed newspaper report on state-citizens Covid-19 legitimations and enforcements in Uganda.

I have over a decade's experience in the area of basic and secondary education. My teaching interests were History, Global Perspectives and English. Since 2015, I have worked as the Programs Officer for the West Africa Centre for Peace - PeaceJam Ghana where I lead youth working groups to train youths on peace education, conflict resolution and social change. The group I lead also organised youth conferences where nobel peace laureates like Leyma Gbowee (Liberia) , Betty William (dec. Northern Ireland), Jody William (USA) and Kailash Satyarthi (India) have empowered the youth with tools for social change.

I hold a master's degree in social sciences (Development Studies) from the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, with a dissertation on women's representation in peace and conflict resolution spaces. My interests are peace, education, social equity, gender and environmental justice.
