Biography
Elina Sievänen works as Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry. She teaches NMR spectroscopy at the advanced level and supervises organic chemistry laboratory work both at subject and advanced levels. Moreover, she acts as the Head of the working group for wellbeing, non-discrimination, and equality of the Department and supervises B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. theses.
Research interests
The research interests of Elina Sievänen cover organic biomolecule- and supramolecule-based applications in pharmacology as well as bio- and circular economy. The structures and properties of molecules and materials formed by them can be studied using various analytical methods, of which Sievänen is specialized in liquid and solid state NMR spectroscopy. Elina Sievänen is part of the research group of Assistant Professor Kaisa Helttunen.
