
Elena Plotnikova
Biography
Elena Plotnikova is a Doctoral Researcher at the Ģֱ School of Business and Economics (JSBE), specializing in corporate environmental management, sustainability, and business and human rights. With a multidisciplinary academic background—including Master’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration (Ģֱ, 2024) and International and Comparative Law (University of Helsinki, 2020)—she brings a unique perspective to sustainable business research.
Her current research focuses on environmental and human rights due diligence in SMEs. Elena has contributed to EU-, national-, and local-level sustainability projects, co-developed and currently teaches the course “Human Rights, Business and the Environment” in collaboration with the Council of Europe' HELP programme , and actively participates in international academic forums such as the Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum.
Elena is committed to advancing responsible business practices through research, education, and engagement with both public and private sectors.
