Anton Schalin
Biography
I am a doctoral researcher at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy. My dissertation, located in the fields of Sociology and Youth Research, deals with intergenerational relations and generational discourse in the context of climate change, the association of social values with climate attitudes in an international comparative study, and child and youth climate activism from the perspective of political agency.
In previous research projects I have studied, inter alia, means to address youth criminal behavior, how children with disabilities perceive equality, Swedish-speaking and bilingual children's experiences of the Finnish Art Testers project, and young people's use of cultural facilities in Central Finland.
Research interests
My research explores generational relations and discourse in the context of climate change, social values and climate attitudes, and young climate activists' political agency.
