
Annika Mylläri
Biography
I started my Ph.D. Studies part-time at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ 2021 in music education under the supervision of Sanna Salminen and Katja Mäkinen. I am involved in a Horizon project, Dialoguing at Arts (d@arts), as a Ph.D. researcher (2024-27).
I teach music pedagogy and classical voice and work on several ICH-related projects at Centria UAS. I have an extensive performance background as an opera singer and over ten years of experience running the Kokkola Opera Summer festival.
My research interests include: Participatory collaborations in music and performing arts, Multicultural artistic projects, Belonging and othering, Cultural appropriation, Intangible cultural heritage, Non-formal and informal music education, and Flipped learning.

Research interests
My research contributes to the field of music education. I examine multicultural participatory collaborations through case studies using ethnographic methods. I am interested in how intercultural practices may support the sense of belonging.
