
Anna-Maija Lantto
Biography
Anna-Maija Lantto is Assistant Professor of Accounting (tenure track). She joined the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) in 2023. Prior to joining the JSBE, Anna-Maija worked at the Oulu Business School, University of Oulu and the University of Vaasa.
Anna-Maija relies on qualitative research methodology to explore topics such as financial reporting practice, auditing practice, accountants' work, accounting and control practices and the role of boundary objects. She also uses quantitative research methods to study topics such as the value relevance of fair value estimates and compare the information content of financial statements based on different financial reporting standards.
Prior to joining the JSBE, Anna-Maija has been teaching topics such as International Financial Reporting Standards, corporate social responsibility and qualitative research methods. The main focus of her current teaching is in auditing and sustainability accounting.
Research interests
Anna-Maija's current research interests are in the following areas: Financial reporting practice; auditing practice; corporate sustainability reports and disclosure strategies; accountants' work; the value relevance of fair value estimates.
