Will Seminaarinmäki become a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Celebrate the Aalto architecture with a free museum visit

Aaltos’ architecture is also proposed for nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The proposal includes 13 sited designed by Aalto as key symbols of Finland’s development into a Nordic welfare state and member of the international community. According to the proposal, Aaltos’ works on the Seminaarinmäki campus, which recently received the European Cultural Heritage Label, depict the potential of intellectual development for individuals and society.
A decision by UNESCO to inscribe the series of 13 buildings designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto on the World Heritage List is expected in 2026.
