The University’s operations are developed in the direction guided by the strategy through five development programmes. One of these is the Campus Development Programme, where development work started in autumn 2018.

"Jyväskylä has a unique university campus in the middle of the city. It is surrounded by beautiful nature and multi-layered architecture and has a distinctive story. The development of the area is important because the campus concerns all members of our university community. It is a thing that can be seen and felt," describes Professor Harry Lönnroth, the Chair of the Campus Development Group in its first term (2018–2021).
