The Ģֱ opens contact teaching as planned and enables safe working on the campus to certain extent
“We are very concerned about the wellbeing of students and staff,” says Rector Keijo Hämäläinen. “Therefore, we aim to enable contact teaching and working on the campus as much as it is safely possible. I encourage all members of the university community to take the coronavirus vaccinations and use flexible opportunities offered by the city, such as pop-up vaccination points and fast track for the second vaccination.”
“The university aims to create as low-risk operating environments as possible. Now we hope that all the staff and students would avoid unnecessary risk situations and events also outside the university and, thus, also keep our community safe and enable the opening of university operations with this responsible mode of actions.”
The Regional State Administrative Agency for Western and Inland Finland has ordered gathering restrictions and a rule to keep safe distances in customer and office facilities. The agency’s orders do not cover the operations of educational institutions or the university’s internal events, but JYU still aims to limit the spreading of the pandemic in the university community and more broadly in society with its actions.
